Council Budget 2023

We are all too aware now of the challenges for local government to set out its spending plans for the following year, and a huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to develop the proposals.

Last year I created a podcast which provided an insight into how we do this, and due to the high level of public interest in how we make decisions on money, I have edited the podcast to make it relevant to this year and hope this provides listeners a sense of the determination of the Council to make the best decisions possible.

The Council is meeting 23 February to debate and agree the budget for the next financial year, and the short introductory report and recommendations serve as a summary if you wish to read the proposal here.
