About the artist
Will Maclean ARSA RSA RSW MBE (born Inverness, 1941) studied at Gray s School of Art, Aberdeen, Hospitalfield, Arbroath and the British School in Rome. He is known for his constructions of driftwood and found objects, presented in boxed frames. His art is deeply rooted in his knowledge of the Highlands and the Highland people and their history. His own early associations with sailors and the sea inspire his work.
