About the artist
John Byrne RSA (born Paisley, 1940) studied at Glasgow School of Art. He is a writer, painter, theatre designer and illustrator who uses a variety of styles and techniques. He is prolific in his output, his style is idiosyncratic, and he deliberately stands apart from artistic movements and trends.
