Edward Gage RSW PSSA (born East Lothian, 1925 2000) studied and worked at Edinburgh College of Art. He taught at Fettes College Edinburgh and worked as a stage designer with Citizen s and Gateway Theatres, and as an illustrator for the Radio Times. He was an art critic at the Scotsman, and wrote an important study of Scottish Art, The Eye in the Wind .
