About the artist
John B Fleming RSW (born Dumbarton, 1912-1986) studied and taught at Glasgow School of Art. He was a painter and illustrator, creating marine paintings, landscapes, and continental scenes. During WW2 he served at sea, which provided him with experience and knowledge on which his later marine paintings were based. He exhibited regularly and his work is held in a number of public collections.
