About the artist
John Reginald Brunsdon (born Cheltenham, 1933-2014) studied at Cheltenham College of Art and the Royal College of Art. He was a founder member of the Printmakers Council. He is known for his meticulous skill and understanding of the etching process. In his etchings he uses both textural and decorative marks alongside broad areas of colour often giving his work a timeless quality. The etching medium combines the linear quality of a drawing with the transparent colour of a watercolour.
