Geometric two colour design using wax resist dyeing process known as batik. This is an early work by the artist, who is known for her experimental textiles which have been exhibited worldwide, and are held in numerous collections.
About the artist
Norma Starszakowna FRSA FCSD (born Fife, 1945) studied and taught at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. Starszakowna has been highly influential both in developing textile art and in the field of higher education. She has played a pioneering role in advancing printing and dyeing techniques and in redefining craft as a political endeavour.
