About the artwork
Teeth-like scorched wood with tacks and nails embedded on a blue background, set in a concrete frame. The artist created this work using recovered materials from the demolition site. ‘When Glasgow tenements were being pulled down in the mid 60s, I felt so angry and upset that these beautiful stone buildings should be razed to the ground, that I wanted to express this anger, especially as the buildings were being replaced with such ugly high rise flats.’ Neil Morrison.
