Landscape depicting Loch Gruniart, a sea loch on the northern coast of Islay. Muted colour palette with wild flowers and grasses in the foreground, fields and hills behind and the loch to the right of the painting.
About the artist
Perpetua Pope (born Solihull, 1916-2013) studied at Edinburgh College of Art, and later taught and lectured in art at a number of institutions including Moray House, Edinburgh. She worked in oil and watercolour, and was inspired by landscape and the natural world. She would immerse herself in the subject, in order to capture the experience of feeling and looking in her painting.
