Argyll and Bute Council's Allotment Regulations Consultation

Allotment Regulations Consultation

This consultation is now closed and thank you for taking part. Your responses are currently being analysed and we will finalise our final Allotment Regulations in line with your feedback.

Consultation background

Argyll and Bute Council is committed to encouraging and empowering people to grow their own food and have set out our ambitions in a draft strategy which can be accessed here.

In support of this ambition we consulted on proposed Allotment Regulations which will form part of the guidance and legal framework to promote and encourage community empowerment and participation in growing food. This is a requirement to meet our statutory duty under part 9 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.

We recognise that there is a great deal of interest, knowledge and expertise in community food growing across Argyll and Bute and through this consultation we were keen to receive feedback from communities, individuals and groups. This feedback will be essential in ensuring we have in place a set of Allotment Regulations that help regulate, support and facilitate further activity.  Please read our draft Regulations which we consulted on below:
