Glenbarr Primary School

Glenbarr Primary is a non-denominational rural school situated fourteen miles north of Campbeltown on the A83. It serves a wide catchment area which includes the villages of Muasdale, Glenbarr and Bellochantuy.

The school building was built in 1890 and renovated and extended in the 1960s. Most recently in 2017, the school had new windows and blinds put into all rooms within the school.  Accommodation comprises of two classrooms, one of which is used as a library and meeting room, one general-purpose room (used for music, PE and dining hall), a kitchen and combined office/staff room. At Glenbarr Primary School we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum with a wide range of learning experiences which are differentiated for the different levels.  We use our outdoor space for learning opportunities and have a school garden where we grow our own vegetables.  Pupils are encouraged to work to their best standards and show respect for everyone involved with the school.  We have close links with our local community and enjoy sharing our learning with them.
