The present roll is 25 and there are two classes comprising of P1 - 4 and P5 - 7 pupils. There are two classrooms in the school, an office and small kitchen area. The meals are not cooked on the premises but transported from Salen School Kitchen. The outdoor environment consists of a playground and some raised beds for gardening. We use the Community Orchard for outdoor learning and the use the facilities at Dervaig Village Hall to teach P.E. Dervaig Primary School has a welcoming and friendly ethos; a supportive Parent Council and good involvement of pupils, parents and the wider community enhance this. Positive relationships are encouraged and pupils share a sense of belonging, pride in the school and mutual respect. The children are encouraged to respect the opinions of others and to confidently express their own feelings and thoughts. We have a happy, positive learning ethos with high expectations of pupil behaviour. The school has been adapted in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
