The school aims to offer education of the highest quality by seeking to promote physical, emotional and intellectual development through the provision of a coherent, broad and balanced curriculum which is both motivating and appropriate to the talents of the individual pupil in an environment within which children can attain their full potential in every aspect of personal growth.
The school has a positive, inclusive, caring ethos. It is designated to make provision for pupils with significant additional support needs arising from learning difficulties, sensory impairment and communication and language difficulties. These children are taught in mainstream classes and in a specially designed learning centre which is an integral part of the school.
In order to create a positive learning environment, the school requires the support, commitment and help of parents. All parents are encouraged to become involved in the corporate life of the school through participation in the Library Committee; class and whole school assemblies; educational excursions and social events. There is an active Parent Council and a vigorous PTA working with parents and teachers in true partnership to provide the best environment for the development of the children in Dunoon Primary School.
