Publication Scheme

The guide to information for Argyll and Bute Council's publication scheme.

Freedom of Information

Introduction

A publication scheme is a document which public authorities are required to have under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA).  The purpose of the document is to make it easier for people to find information directly, without having to request it from the authority (for example, FOI).

The guide to information for Argyll and Bute Council's publication scheme can be found here:  Publication scheme - Guide to our information

Argyll and Bute Licensing Board is a separate statutory body from the Council, therefore a separate publication scheme has been produced, and can be found here: Licensing Board Publication Scheme and Guide to information

We would encourage anyone looking for information from the Council to have a look here first - as it may be available for you to access directly from the publication scheme, rather than having to request it from us.

What information can I find in the publication scheme?

The model scheme sets out classes of information, and we have listed all the information we currently publish within each class.  The classes are shown below.

  • About Argyll and Bute Council
  • How we deliver our functions and services
  • How we take decisions and what we have decided
  • What we spend and how we spend it
  • How we manage our human, physical and information resources
  • How we procure goods and services from external providers
  • How we are performing
  • Our commercial publications

If you are looking for information which is not in the publication scheme, you can still request this from us - you can use the Freedom of Information online form to send us as request.
