Craignure Pier Update

Disruptive weather conditions yesterday saw a number of ferry journeys cancelled across Scotland.

In Mull, the weather also had the impact of disrupting an underwater timber column.

In order to maintain the harbour as safe for use, our marine engineers have arranged for the column to be removed. This column is not necessary to the on-going safe functioning of the pier; it sits in an indent, originally to keep smaller boats on track into the harbour; today’s larger size vessels do not access this indent so do not need the timber column.

The pier is again open for business and ferries will be running subject to weather conditions.
