A Christmas message from Provost Len Scoullar

“The festive season is with us once again, that special time of peace, love and celebration.

“For many people, this can be a difficult time. My thoughts and wishes are with them. I know that there are many, many people in our communities, throughout Argyll and Bute, who will do all they can to provide comfort and hope amid the festivities. I thank them for all their work, at this time and throughout the year.

“Community spirit like this is what makes Argyll and Bute the place we want to make our lives and it will be one of the key things that makes people want to join us. Day-to-day, we see energy, innovation and caring that is second to none and in times of sadness, we all draw closer together.

“As we move into a new decade, this is a good time to reflect on the year past and the days to come. We secured a Rural Growth Deal to bring prosperity to the area and this will be developed throughout 2020. More of our towns are being regenerated to attract new businesses, residents and visitors. The new Twenties look bright.

“As the old year draws to a close give us the patience to treasure our memories and to live every minute of the present to the full, ready to embrace the New Year with energy and enthusiasm.

“Now, all that remains for me to say is that, as Council Provost, may I sincerely wish everyone a very joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
