Congratulations to Jilly Wilson, of Lochgilphead Square Peg, who is the Argyll and Bute’s regional champion in Scotland's Town Partnership’s High Street Heroes Awards.
Jilly was recognised for supporting communities in Lochgilphead, and in Tayvallich, working seven days a week to fulfil orders from her shop. She and her small team of staff also fed between 120 and 180 essential workers - three meals a day for four weeks.
Highly commended were Isle of Bute Resilience Team; Amber Cooper, Cooper’s Cleaning, Dunoon; and Will Anderson, Muasdale Stores.
Jilly was one of 1200 nominations across the country honoured for the remarkable ways in which they have helped their communities during the coronavirus crisis. The number of nominations from Argyll and Bute was brilliant which shows our fantastic community spirit.
