Are you interested in standing for election?

Do you live in the Isle of Bute/Helensburgh and Lomond South area? Are you passionate about your local community as well as the wider Argyll and Bute area? You may well be interested in standing for election to Argyll and Bute Council.

The council currently has vacancies in two of its wards – Ward 8, Isle of Bute and Ward 11, Helensburgh and Lomond South. Following publication of the official Notice of Election on 8th February, nominations are now open for people who want to stand for election in either ward.

The council has prepared a guide for people who are interested in becoming an Argyll and Bute Councillor. You can download this from our website at Becoming a Councillor (argyll-bute.gov.uk)

Alternatively, you can contact our Elections Team on 01546 603264 for an informal discussion and to request a nomination pack. You can also request a pack by emailing elections@argyll-bute.gov.uk .

Nominations are open until 4pm on 15th February 2021 for the two Argyll and Bute Council by-elections. The final list of candidates will be published after that date on the dedicated Elections web page at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk
