The total electorate for Argyll and Bute was 49,726 with 33,712 votes cast. The turnout at the polls was 67.8 per cent.
A total of 84 votes were rejected. 26 were rejected for voting for more than one candidate, one for writing or mark by which the voter could be identified, and 57 were unmarked or void for uncertainty.
