Round four of Argyll and Bute Council’s Strategic Events and Festivals Fund opens for applications at midday on 22 October 2021.
The fund is open to events and festivals which will take place between April 2022 and March 2023 and are of strategic importance to the area.
The opening of round four of the fund comes as event and festival organisers and other tourism organisations across Argyll and Bute continue the process of recovery from the impact of the pandemic.
This year, carry-overs from previous years means the total Strategic Events and Festival fund is £150,614 which is larger pot than normal. We would encourage as many strategic events as possible to bid for funding. These events will ideally draw in visitors from outwith Argyll and Bute, from Scotland, the rest of the UK and attract international visitors.
Councillor Robin Currie, Leader of the Council, said: “This funding will provide some much needed support for event organisers and tourist businesses which have been so badly affected by Covid.
“Events and festivals are extremely popular with people in communities across our region and also play an enormously important part in attracting tourists to the area.
“There is clearly still a lot of uncertainty for events companies and the wider entertainment sector but we’re hopeful that the ongoing roll-out of the vaccination programme coupled with the support which the fund provides will deliver a welcome boost to the industry.”
As in previous years, event organisers should use our online application form.
The application process is open from midday on Friday 22nd October 2021 to midday on Monday 6 December 2021.
