“The staff team are warm, welcoming, and caring and there is a positive ethos throughout the nursery”
'My child has been at Campbeltown nursery centre for almost a year now and he/she has flourished under their care. The staff are so lovely, down to earth real people who genuinely take an interest and joy in the development of the children in their care. I would not want my child to go anywhere else.”
These are just some of the comments included in a positive report following an inspection of Campbeltown Nursery Centre by The Care Inspectorate.
During the inspection earlier this year, inspectors noted that children experienced warm, caring and nurturing approaches which are supporting children to be secure, happy, settled and confident. Staff at the nursery have developed resources and a culture of wellbeing to help children manage their feelings using mindfulness strategies. This approach is helping children to settle, self-regulate and have positive experiences.
Outdoor play features regularly at the nursery including recent ‘play and pedal sessions’ with children having access to bikes outdoors. This helps to build confidence and individual abilities, as well as supporting children to keep safe while using a bike.
Councillor Jim Lynch, Leader of Argyll and Bute Council, congratulated the team at the Nursery:
“Well done to everyone at Campbeltown Nursery Centre for such a positive report. It’s clear from the feedback in the report that staff are working hard to provide a positive and fun learning experiences for the children in their care.
The council’s Education Strategy is clear in our ambition to give children the best possible start on their education journey. Looking at individual needs and working with children and families to get it right for every child is a fundamental part of providing solid foundations for our young people.”
Fiona Armour, Head of Centre at Campbeltown Nursery Centre:
“Within Campbeltown Nursery Centre, we strive to provide the very best provision for every child in our care. We recognise each child as an individual and tailor daily experiences to meet their personal care and development needs. As a team, we focus on the fundamental needs of each child, supporting them to develop core skills, confidence, and resilience within early life. In successfully achieving this, we continue to fully embed policy, professional knowledge and robust self-evaluation and improvement processes into everyday practice.
As Manager, I am passionate about empowering staff, children and parents and I am therefore delighted the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of the staff team at Campbeltown Nursery Centre has been recognised and given credit within this Inspection Report.”
