Building Standards team wins national award

Argyll and Bute Council’s Building Standards team has won a national award for excellent performance, particularly its focus on customer service.

The team recently received a Nation Building Standards Performance Award, presented by the Scottish Government, in the medium-sized local authority category.

The annual Building Standards National Performance awards recognise excellent performance focusing on customer service including the processing of building warrants against performance targets as set out in the Building Standards Performance Framework for Verifiers.

There are three performance awards presented, one for each local authority size category, based on the number of building warrants processed within the previous statistical reporting year. Other category winners were Aberdeen and Falkirk.

Councillor Kieron Green, Policy Lead for Planning and Regulatory Services, said:

“Congratulations to everyone in the Building Standards Team. It takes hard work and professionalism to deliver services to a high standard. To do it across such a diverse and wide geographical area is even more challenging.

“This award is testament to everything you have achieved as a team and the work we all do to deliver the services that matter to communities across Argyll and Bute day-on-day.”
