What information do we need?

We will not collect any special categories of personal information from you.
Why we need this information?
Your information is being collected for the following purpose(s):-
- So we can provide you with further information, assistance or a response, relevant to the information submitted by you.
- To provide you with general updates on any relevant project work associated with tourism development, funding opportunities, informal camping developments or anything related to visitor management.
We need to know this personal data in order to provide you with further information related to tourism development, informal camping initiatives, to signpost relevant funding opportunities and provision of advice (where appropriate).
If you do not provide this information then we will be unable to provide relevant information on developments and initiatives which might assist you with any reported issues.
The lawful basis for collecting your information in these circumstances is:-
Article 6(1)(a) - Consent – by completing the report form you have given us your consent to process your personal data as stated above.
What we will do with your information?
In order to provide this service to you, we will share your information with the categories of organisations listed below for the purposes specified.
Other public bodies (and also receive information from these other bodies) for the purpose of preventing or detecting fraud
- Regulatory and law enforcement bodies in compliance with legal obligations
- Other Council services to help us improve our services
- Other public bodies (Police Scotland, Fire Scotland, Forestry and Land Scotland, NatureScot, Visit Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Highlands and Islands Enterprise)
All of the information we collect from you will be processed by staff in the United Kingdom. You should also be aware that your data will be stored on servers located within the United Kingdom and United States of America; the data will also be processed in these countries. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is kept securely and more information on how we do this can be requested from the Data Protection Officer.
How long will we keep your information?
We will keep your information for a minimum of 5 years after the project concludes as we may want to contact you about relevant development projects which the council is working in partnership to progress. After this period it will be destroyed under secure arrangements. More information on our retention policy and procedure can be obtained from the Data Protection Officer if required.
Your Rights
When you provide information to the Council, you will have the following rights:
- to withdraw consent at any time, where the lawful basis specified above is consent
- to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office – see below for details
- to request access to your personal data – please contact the Data Protection Officer if you wish to submit a request.
- to data portability, where the Legal basis specified above is i) consent or ii) performance of a contract
- to request rectification or erasure of your personal data, as far as the legislation permits – please contact the Data Protection Officer and provide details of what data you wish to be rectified or erased.
