The SSMEI Sound of Mull Project was funded by the Scottish Government, Scottish Natural Heritage, The Crown Estate and WHELK Leader+ Programme, with in-kind support from Argyll and Bute Council and Highland Council.
Sound of Mull Project
Argyll and Bute Council was the lead partner in a pilot project which developed a local non-statutory spacial plan for the Sound of Mull. The project was one of four projects in a wider Scottish Sustainable Marine Environment Initiative (SSMEI) which ran from 2007 to 2011, with the aim of testing the effectiveness of alternative management approaches to deliver sustainable development in Scotland's marine and coastal environment.
