Order a bin

How to order new, replacement or second bins for rubbish and recycling

Order a green wheelie bin for general, non-recyclable waste

You can order a green wheelie bin for your mixed general waste in several ways (bins cost £42.10 each):

The council does not replace broken bins free of charge, nor can we supply parts for damaged bins e.g. new lids. If you believe your bin was damaged during a waste uplift please email enquiries@argyll-bute.gov.uk with your contact details, details of the incident and pictures of the damage caused.

Second green bins

Arrangements can be made for certain households to have a second general waste green bin - where there are five or more people or where someone has a medical condition that generates waste - qualifying households can request one using our online form.

Order a blue recycling bin

Households are entitled to a free blue wheelie bin for mixed recycling (exceptions are residents of Coll, Colonsay and some homes in Campbeltown. Residents of Lismore use recycling bags inside their blue bin).

The blue recycling bin is for:

  • Paper, card and cardboard
  • Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays
  • Metal tins, cans, aerosols and foil
  • Food and drink cartons

How to order a blue bin -
