Recycling and rubbish disposal centre for the Helensburgh and Lomond area
Blackhill recycling centre is open throughout the year, seven days a week including bank holidays with the exception of Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and 2 January.
Monday - Friday: 9.30 am to 5.30 pm (summer hours - 1st April to 30th September)
Monday - Friday: 9.00 am to 4.00 pm (winter hours - 1st October to 31st March)
Saturday & Sunday: 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
Please note - last entry to the site is 15 minutes before closing time each day
Householders can bring various items to the site for recycling/recovery. These items include: Batteries (car and household); books; cardboard and paper; cooking oil; electrical items (large, small and battery operated); engine oil; fire extinguishers; fluorescent tubes; food and drink cartons; garden waste; gas bottles; glass (bottles and jars);ink and toner cartridges; light bulbs; metal (tins, cans, empty aerosols, scrap); plastic (bottles, trays, pots and tubs);rubble; textiles; tyres; paints; and wood.
We can also accept items donated for the local re-use charity.
Other household rubbish and items can be brought to the site for onward disposal. Guidance on recycling of upholstered items and disposal of asbestos waste can be read below.
