Scotland Loves Local - Argyll and Bute Gift Card for the Islands 2024

Scotland Loves Local Cards will help support both residents struggling with the cost of living crisis and local businesses struggling with the Cost of Living Crisis and living on our inhabited islands.

Why is Argyll and Bute Council distributing Scotland Loves Local Argyll and Bute gift cards to people on the Islands?

Argyll and Bute Council will be sending gift cards worth £95 to around 1,256 eligible households on our islands in November 2024. The cards, which can be spent in local shops and businesses, help support both residents struggling with the cost of living crisis and local businesses dealing with the increasing cost of goods and services

The Scottish Government has provided the Council with additional funds to support Islands communities with the cost of living and as a result a fourth phase of gift cards worth £95 will be issued to people on our inhabited islands.

Scotland Loves Local Argyll and Bute Gift Cards can only be spent with businesses that are signed up to accept the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card. There are more than 300 businesses of all sizes signed up to accept the gift card across the area already.

The Scotland Loves Local campaign looks to encourage people in Scotland to think local first and support businesses in their local towns and communities. The Scotland Loves Local Argyll and Bute Gift Card can be seen as a local currency - allowing people to spend their gift cards in their favourite local businesses, or on household essentials, in a way that keeps spending local longer for eligible households, benefitting the local economy in the process.
