Reducing the amount of domestic waste that goes to landfill, through promoting reduce, re-use and recycling, remains a key commitment for the council, to help save money, protect services and support climate-friendly measures.
The Environment, Development and Infrastructure committee, of Argyll and Bute Council, agreed on Thursday (June 20) to write to the Scottish Government to secure financial support which will enable the council to comply with the upcoming Biodegradable Municipal Waste (BMW) ban.
Argyll and Bute Council is inviting people to have their say on a proposed walking and cycling route that will link the ferry terminals at Tarbert and Kennacraig, making it safer and easier for more people to choose to walk and cycle to nearby services and facilities.
